Hello, Beautiful!

My name is Kaylee Raquel Ellison, I am the owner and lead Make up artist of K.Raquel Artistry. I grew up always creating, whether that was through painting, drawing, or writing, but my favorite was always makeup. I first encountered makeup at 5 years old when I was given a play makeup set for Christmas. My eyes immediately lit up when I locked in on all the different colors and textures. Instead of reaching for other toys, I always gravitated towards my makeup set. It was the first thing I would pull out when my cousins came over. I loved being able to create makeup looks for them and myself. Through the years makeup has been so much more than just a bright red lipstick. I am my most authentic self when holding a makeup brush.

As time went on, the makeup industry evolved as well as my passion for makeup. One day I came across @hairandmakeupbylexi on Facebook which is now known as @honeybeelovleybeauty. Their team was in need of a makeup artist. I applied for the position, went to the interview, got the job, and from there, went straight to work! I had the opportunity to do make up for all occasions such as proms, styled shoots, maternity, family portraits as well as weddings. Through those experiences, I was able to develop and sharpen my skills as a makeup artist all while learning about the beauty industry. Being able to be a part of something so great gave me the courage to step out and venture on my own. One of the things that makeup has shown me is how multifaceted this industry is. That being said I’ve enjoyed creating looks that go beyond your traditional makeup style. I take delight in creating looks that involve SFX, special effects, prosthetics etc. These techniques challenge me to expand beyond my creativity and push me as a makeup artist.
